A few things to always remember

Please inform us of your expected arrival time in advance. You can contact us directly using the contact details in your booking confirmation.
Guests are required to show a photo ID upon check-in. As per Government regulations, it is mandatory that all guests present a photo ID at check-in.

  • No ID = No check-in.
  • Acceptable proof of identification are passports, Aadhar card, voter identification and driver’s license. We do not accept local IDs and do not allow admission.
  • Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
  • Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. We will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
  • Pets are not allowed on the property.
  • Breakfast is not included in the room rent.
  • It is strictly prohibited to smoke and drink anywhere on the property. We have dedicated smoking areas that can be used for smoking.
  • Blue Jay is a self-service hostel. We advise guests to adhere to self-service during their stay. We do not provide services such as luggage transport, room service, wake up service, etc., that could be provided in a hotel.
  • Cleaning hours are 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Inform us about the cleaning of the rooms so that we can clean the rooms during this time. The cleaning service is not available all day, but for this specific time.
  • We only allow non-resident guests in our lobby and in the cafe.
  • Blue Jay, Rishikesh has no parking available outside the property.
  • Policies are subject to change at the discretion of Blue Jay.
  • House rules and other hostel policies will be communicated at check-in.

Reservations and Cancellations

  • Please read all our policies carefully before making a reservation.
  • Cancel 48 hours before the check-in date to avoid cancellation charges.
  • We reserve the right to charge the total amount of the cancellation at any time according to our cancellation policies.
  • You can pay in cash, by credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Rupay, etc.) upon arrival. These are the only payment methods available.

Check-in and Check-out

  • Check in time is from 1 PM till 11:30 PM. Check out time is 10:00 AM. We have no provisions for early check-in or late check-out. It is subject to availability. Guests can use our common area that has all the necessary amenities before check-in. We also allow guests to stay in the common area after their check-out time until 11:30 PM.
  • Our reception is open 24 hours. We have no curfew. However, we recommend that guests keep us informed about arrivals and departures late at night or early in the morning.

Age Restriction

  • Guests under 18 and over 45 are not allowed in the dormitories.
  • Family bookings are not allowed in the dormitories.
  • We are a backpackers hostel and do not recommend family reservations.
  • We currently have no open windows in Blue Jay, Rishikesh’s standard room.
  • We advise guests to book deluxe double rooms with balconies if open window is a main requirement.

Group Policies

  • We do not accept group reservations of more than 6 online.
  • Contact our reservations team for group reservations of more than 6, the same must be approved in advance.
  • We do not allow more than 3 of a group to stay in the same dormitory.
  • The same dormitory assignment for group reservations is subject to availability.
  • The group leader must ensure that the whole group cooperates fully with our staff.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission (at the hostel without refund), or to cancel the reservation of groups (at the hostel without refund) whose members participate in any form of inappropriate behaviour.
  • It is strictly forbidden to smoke and drink anywhere inside the property.
