KUNJAPURI
Before Sunrise
KUNJAPURI DEVI TEMPLE
Well known for the story of Sati, the Kunjapuri Devi Temple, one of the 3 Siddha Peeths in Tehri district of Uttarakhand, is the highest point on the Kunjapuri slope, 1676 m above sea level and at a distance of 25 km from Rishikesh.
This beautiful temple atop a hill is surrounded by scintillating Himalayas and snowy peaks such as Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Banderpunch and Chaukhamba, an unparalleled spot to experience the clear and radiant sunrise from behind the eternal Himalayas.
Visiting Kunjapuri? A trek not to be missed.
Kunjapuri Down-hill Trek
While you might want to visit the temple and spend some time offering prayers, seeing sunrise or meditating, we put on to a really wonderful downhill trek along nature, beautiful panoramic views, traditional Himalayan houses, locals and much more.

Our Plan
We drive up to the Kunjapuri Temple to see the sunrise, spend some time there and have a savoury breakfast. Continuing with the trek, we start downhill covering a stretch of 13 km, take a pit stop at the Neer Gaddu waterfall, one of the most famous natural waterfalls in Rishikesh, spend a little more time there and return to the hostel.
